Pasilaiciai (lit. translation from Lithuanian- by the forest) is a suburb of Vilnius, Lithuania built in the 1980-ies. As Vilnius has been expanding rapidly in the past 5 years, the suburb is spreading into the surrounding countryside and small villages. Pani Teresa and her son Czeslaw have been living here for over 50 years, growing strawberries, flowers, potatoes, keeping chickens and a cow. They keep working the fields manually and lead the same life as previous generations of the village did whilst observing the growing wall of block flats and construction sites around them.
