This series is a result of my flanuerism experiences in Riga since 2009 up to today.
more... I've always been curious about my surroundings, spent countless hours wandering around and getting lost in the city. So when I got this silly little digital camera, the natural thing was to take it with me and start to make some pictures. Then I replaced beaten up digital gizmo with the film camera and now I'm spending almost all of my money on film and photographic paper. Actually I was fascinated by the fact that I wasn't able to find any motivation to do photography. And that exact thing became my reason. So I kept on making pictures. Irrationally. The main idea for me is of not knowing. I keep only the pictures where I can't exactly describe and communicate why they work. I don't strive to create any particular narrative, for me photography is the medium to see the world as a incomprehensible as it is. And to leave a space for interpretation – emotions, reflection and the attitude to the viewer.
