I was born in Motherwell, Scotland, and grew up in East Kilbride where my family moved in 1966. I studied Fine Art Photography at the Glasgow School of Art. Immediately after graduation in 2014 I won first prize in the Jill Todd Photographic Award. Over the last three years I have exhibited in Lithuania, China and throughout the United Kingdom. My first degree was in Medieval and Modern History and my photographic practice uses history as material for exploring contemporary issues such as migration, nationhood and urbanism.
