Philip LePage
St Peters Bay, Canada

One should not only photograph things for what they are but for what else they are. Minor White. A Canadian born photographer and printmaker, Philip LePage is a 1996 BA (Art History) graduate of the University of British Columbia. Marc Augé argued “that we are in transit through non-place for more and more of our time, as if between immense parentheses…." Philip LePage explores these non-places, subways, paths through parks and underpasses, the edges of the man-made and natural world and how they reflect and shape identity and social relationships: What these ‘parentheses’ say about the way we interact with each other, nature and the world we have created.
