His photos published in Time Europe, U.S. News & World Report, NZZ Folio Magazine and on the cover of The New York Times. In 2004 he covered the Ukrainian presidential elections for World Picture News. That same year he participated in the Agency VII Master Class in France. In 2005 Pipars received a grant from the European Cultural Foundation to create a project about illegal workers in Eastern Europe, in collaboration with Sputnik Photos. His work has been shown at the World Press Photo Baltic Seminar in Vilnius in 2005; the VII Master Class Group Exhibit at the European Human Rights and Democratisation Conference in Warsaw in 2006; and the Zona Documentary Project Exhibition in Kraków in 2006.
