I see theatre not only as a spectacle of society, but also as a form of a specific micro world. Although designed for the public use, offstage it becomes like a small, private pocket. In my work I have always been interested in exploration of the worlds hidden, the otherness. Within the past two years I took a role of a traveller. I decided to wonder around the every hidden corner of my favourite theatre. I became an invisible guest, maybe even a thief who was sneaking into the pockets of theatre's audience hoping to find something that belongs to me. In a broader sense Riga's New Theatre within their performances has always reflected on the issues of identity of post socialist country. Through my work I hope to reveal a visual code that forms that identity.
